Closing Clinic Email Address

As of May 1, 2024, we will be closing our clinic email address, info@citrusmedical.ca, for all incoming clinic communication. All emails sent in after May 1, 2024 will be automatically deleted and not responded to. Instead, all patients are asked to contact the clinic through:

  3. Clinics, physicians, and third-parties may fax us: 416-342-1790

This change aims to provide patients with a secure messaging platform and enhance our ability to respond to inquiries efficiently.

We understand that there may be some confusion & uncertainty during the transition period, notably with previously sent clinic emails requesting for responses to info@citrusmedical.ca. We have taken steps to minimize any resulting conflicts to facilitate a seamless transition, and we appreciate your understanding and patience as we strive to improve our communication channels.

Why is this change happening?

Over the years, we've consistently encountered significant difficulties with allowing patients to email us. The sheer volume and complexity of messages, along with differing expectations, have posed persistent challenges. Despite numerous attempts to tackle this issue, none have yielded satisfactory results.

We've received inappropriate emails for urgent medical concerns, such as experiencing chest pain at 1:00 am, messages lacking required information including the patient's name, and lengthy emails containing complex paragraphs or threads from other exchanges. 

With this new contact form, our goal is to streamline incoming requests, enabling faster processing times while still ensuring access to care.

Will my doctor still email me?

Our physicians will continue to send email messages to patients as there are numerous scenarios where email is the most effective mode of communication. Moreover, our physicians may request a written response in some instances which would be completed through the same secure messaging software, OceanMD.

What is OceanMD?

OceanMD (formerly CognisantMD) is a software company based in Toronto, Ontario. Their Ocean software is used across Canada by over 25,000 healthcare providers to connect with over 10,000 patients daily. The Ocean Platform is used by numerous Public Health organizations, the Ontario Ministry of Health, and leading teaching hospitals.

How do I submit a response?

1. Access the contact form by clicking the button below, or click "Contact Us" at the top right corner of the website. Follow the prompts to enter your information. 

2. Select the reason you are contacting the clinic. If none of the categories apply, select "Other". Note: proper selection will allow our team to process your request faster.

 

3. Once you have selected your type of request, click NEXT in the bottom right corner to continue.

4. Follow the instructions listed on the form and click NEXT to continue. If you want to go back and change your selection, click PREVIOUS to see the previous page.
